Wheels Guidelines

Carbon Wheels Guidelines

1. Recommended Maximum Weight for specific wheel sizes:

187lbs/85kgs for 24mm profile rim

209lbs/95kgs for 38mm profile rim

220lbs/100kgs for 50mm profile rim

231lbs/105kgs for 60mm profile rim

243.5lbs/110kgs for 88mm profile rim and cyclocross specific rims

Note: wheels, rims, and hubs are NOT warranted for use on tandem bikes.

We strongly remind users to examine wheels for secure installation on the bicycle frame, check tire pressure for compliance with recommended standards and inspect brake pads before riding.

We recommend that you keep brake pads and rims clean from debris and glazing on a regular basis. How often these maintenance steps are required is often subjective to your riding style, geography and climate.

Debris can come from many sources. It is commonly generated any time you apply brake pads to the rim whether you are riding

aluminum or carbon wheels; both surfaces naturally wear on each other and remove miniscule amounts of surface material at

the point of contact. Carbon wheels, being darker in color, usually do not show this as easily. Also debris is picked up from the road and climate as you ride. It is not uncommon to see small stones, metal or other road debris embedded in bicycle brake pads. Those must be removed. Wet/adverse climate riding conditions increase the debris build-up and abrasion between pads and rims on all bicycles.

Routine scheduled cleaning of your wheelset will improve modulation and braking in all conditions.

3. Recommended and approved brake pads

SwissStop yellow pads

Farsports blue pads

Bontrager cork pads

Failure to comply with these recommendations will void your warranty.

4. Recommended braking area for clincher

5mm lower from the circle edge, braking area is about 11mm

5. Recommended run-in period is about 200km

From our experience, we found that it is not suitable to do long descent for new wheels with new brake pads.

Do not use it for long descent and High strength braking during run-in period

6. Be sure to deflate tires to under 100 PSI after riding, so as to minimize strain on the rim and possible fatigue and warping over time
